Vancouver, British Columbia – With Movember drawn to an official close, LGM Financial Services Inc. is pleased to announce that through its Friends of LGM network, successfully mobilized the Canadian auto industry to raise over $249,000 in support of men’s health. The “Friends of LGM – Canadian Auto Industry United” network was the largest automotive Movember network in the world with 185 teams and 1,275 members. These remarkable results ranked the network 10th in Canada, 22nd in the world in contributions. In total, Movember Canada raised over $39 million dollars through this annual fundraising event.
“We created this network to allow the Canadian auto industry to have a collective voice in the awareness of men’s health issues,” says LGM CEO Adam Hill. “This was more than just an avenue to raise funds for vital prostate cancer research; this was an opportunity for our industry to come together and stand behind an issue that is important to us all. We are very pleased with this achievement and realize this wouldn’t have been possible without the support of our industry partners, automotive dealers and colleagues across Canada.”
LGM thanks everyone for their participation and support of this initiative, and includes a special recognition to their sponsors. Westin Hotels & Resorts, Sovereign General Insurance Company, Canadian Auto World, Elite Sportswear, Canadian Auto Dealer, Automotive Business School of Canada, and RP Graphics Group were instrumental to the campaign’s success by generously donating time, materials and resources.
Movember is a month long fundraising campaign where male participants, known as Mo Bros, start the month of November with a clean-shaven face, then grow their stylish moustache throughout the month. This hairy ribbon is designed to start conversations about prostate cancer and men’s health issues. Women, or Mo Sistas, help by getting the word out, recruiting Mo Bros to participate. Funds raised go towards research and survivorship programs driven by Prostate Cancer Canada.
