Oxford Properties has released a case study on LGM’s Waste Bin Removal Program – promoting the project as a success story in sustainable and healthy living.

Having identified paper waste as the most common waste material in the office, LGM proposed to remove waste bins from individual workstations in an effort to reduce waste and encourage conscious recycling. Each desk was outfitted with only a paper reuse collection tray and a recycling bin, and the entire staff had access to a single waste bin which was moved to a central place in the office.

Oxford Properties’ case study highlights the positive outcomes of these minor adjustments in office layout and behaviour. LGM has seen a huge reduction in the volume of garbage produced by over 100 employees – our typical 4 bags per night has dropped to 1/3 of a bag per night.
